The Equinox and Inner Harmony

Edition 3 of Insight : Reflections on Mantra, Life and the Inner Journey by Jagannatha Das

The Spring Equinox marks a quiet yet powerful moment in the year, when day and night come into perfect balance.

Do you agree that so much of our inner journey is about finding this same balance?

We often move between extremes like doing and resting, striving and letting go. The equinox gently reminds us that harmony is not found in pushing harder, but in returning to the centre.

In the bhakti tradition, this balance naturally awakens through connection.

Through mantra and kirtan, the mind begins to settle, the heart softens, and we reconnect with a deeper sense of peace within.

Spring mirrors this inner unfolding.

After the stillness of winter, life begins to emerge again: gently, naturally and without force.

In the same way, spiritual growth unfolds when we create the right conditions.

When we chant mantras, we invite that balance and harmony back into our lives.

As we step into this new season, perhaps take a moment to reflect:

Where am I being pulled out of balance?
And how can I gently return to centre?

I would love to hear your realisation on this.
