Reflections on the nurturing power of love, Śrī Rādhā and our connection with the Divine.
Recently I was invited by an organisation called Wings to share kirtan for International Women’s Day. It was a beautiful gathering honouring the strength, compassion and wisdom of women.
As I was chanting that evening, I had a simple realisation.
So much of what we celebrate on days like this — care, patience, nurturing and unconditional support — reflects a deeper spiritual energy.
In the bhakti tradition this nurturing presence is beautifully expressed through Śrī Rādhā, whom I often refer to as the Mother of the Universe and beyond.
Rādhā represents the highest expression of love and devotion, always wishing the very best for every soul. Through her compassion, the heart is gently guided back toward its natural connection with the Divine.
With Mother’s Day upon us, it feels like a perfect moment to reflect on this nurturing presence in our lives: through our mothers, through the women who have supported us, and through the divine feminine energy that helps sustain us.
When we chant Radhe Govinda, we are calling upon that loving presence to awaken within our own hearts.
